I’m curious about how my government system works

What are you curious about?

How does my government work and get things done? It’s one of the things I regret not learning well during my school years, especially political science. I told myself that the system works as long as I remember to vote during major election years.

I honestly couldn’t understand why I needed to learn more about how my government works beyond the basics of the School House Rock song, which is how I learned about how the government worked.

I recall I had to take a class in high school, but I barely remember. I do remember rewatching School House Rock to prepare for the final test. I passed the class, but barely.

I think I did the same for my college political science class. I failed and had to retake the course. Even after retaking the class, I barely remember anything.
In present days, I really wish I had paid more attention because there is much more to it. It starts at a local community level and goes up to the Federal government.

It takes a passionate community, including individuals and businesses, to influence and sometimes demand changes from the government that better their community. Knowing and understanding how political systems work, knowing who has the influence and power to get those changes done, helps move the process along quickly.
