5 practices for building stronger relationships

John and Mary had been best friends but got into a huge argument one day. They stopped speaking to each other. Soon they could not remember the disagreement. But neither of them was willing to talk. The friendship bridge between them seemed like it had crumbled. Soon, John lost touch with Mary.

A few years passed, and Mary missed John, and she decided to reach out to him on social media in the hopes of repairing their friendship. John was hesitant at first, but he agreed to meet her for coffee after a long reflection.

They caught up on all the things that had happened in their lives since they last saw each other. They laughed and joked like they used to and realized that they had been silly to let their fight get in the way of their friendship. They vowed never to lose touch again.

Building stronger relationships is something we all crave. Everyone wants to feel connected and loved, whether with friends or other important people in our life. Though there isn’t a blueprint for doing this, some guidelines can help make your relationships stronger. Here are 5 of them!

  1. Be there for them when they need you – even if you’re busy or don’t feel like it.
  2. Don’t take your relationships for granted – appreciate them every day
  3. Communicate openly and honestly with each other
  4. Respect their opinions, even if you disagree with them
  5. Don’t criticize them in front of others

Honesty and communication are two essential ingredients for any healthy relationship, so make sure you always strive to be truthful with your loved ones and never take them for granted. Don’t allow disagreements to become years of regret. Showing your appreciation every day will help keep your relationship strong and thriving. Thanks for reading!
